THE PROMISE AND LAW

A. Promise for the Scout and Rover is:

On my honour, I promise that,
I will do my best To do my duty to God and my country,
To help other people and
To obey the Scout Law.

B. The Promise for the Guide and Ranger is:

On my honour, I promise that,
I will do my best To do my duty to God and my country,
To help other people and
To obey the Guide Law.

C. The Promise for the Cub is:

I promise to do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
To keep the Cub Law and
To do a Good turn every day.

D. The Promise for the Bulbul is:

I promise to do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
To keep the Bulbul Law and
To do a Good turn every day.

Note:

The word 'Dharma' may be substituted for the word 'God' if so desired.
The Promise is to be made on the occasion of the Investiture and in the case of a Rover or Ranger who is already a Scout or Guide, the Promise is to be reaffirmed.

FOR SCOUT / ROVER SECTION - NINE PARTS OF LAW

01. A Scout is trustworthy.
02. A Scout is Loyal.
03. A Scout is a friend to all and a brother to every other Scout.
04. A Scout is courteous.
05. A Scout is a friend to animals and loves nature.
06. A Scout is disciplined and helps protect public property.
07. A Scout is courageous.
08. A Scout is thrifty.
09. A Scout is pure in thought, word and deed.

FOR GUIDE / RANGER SECTION - NINE PARTS OF LAW

01. A Guide is trustworthy.
02. A Guide is Loyal.
03. A Guide is a friend to all and a sister to every other Guide.
04. A Guide is courteous.
05. A Guide is a friend to animals and loves nature.
06. A Guide is disciplined and helps protect public property.
07. A Guide is courageous.
08. A Guide is thrifty.
09. A Guide is pure in thought, word and deed.

FOR CUB SECTION - TWO PARTS OF LAW

01. The Cub is obedient.
02. The Cub is clean and polite.

FOR BULBUL SECTION - TWO PARTS OF LAW

01. The Bulbul is obedient.
